The Astro

My room is equipped with Astro already. The installer came yesterday and got it fixed. But it took some freaking hours to get it activated, which is damn fucking frustrated for me.
I called Astro last week to confirm the order of the 2nd decoder at my house. As I am already an Astro subscriber and I’m going to install the 2nd decoder at the same house, I am entitled 50% discount of monthly subscription for the 2nd decoder. In short, I only need to pay half for the packages that I subscribe every month.
I have bought a set of Sony home theater some time early of this year, before the wedding day (17 March 2007). Basically I bought the home theater set purposely for my new home which is to be complete next year. Everybody is saying that I did not need to buy it so soon as the new house is not ready yet. But I had to think out-of-the-box. If it’s only for my new house, of course it is not necessary to buy it now. But my second thought is, I needed it for my wedding. I needed an LCD to view all my wedding photos to the relative and friend guests who visited me.
Also, I know my wife is a movie and HK drama freak. An LCD surely can kill her time when she has got nothing to do at home. The best part is that that home theather set comes with great audio and video features and effect. It’s good for movies as well as for musics. But, after several months owning the home theater, I had played not more than 10 dramas or movies. I felt kinda waste if I don’t utilize it before it’s condemned. For your information, I have signed up a 5-years warranty extention.
There are many reasons for not using much of the home theater. First, I didn’t have time. Yeah, life has been so fucking busy lately, especially after the wedding. I have got more basketball tournaments to play. I can’t stop playing basketball because I need more money. Yes, I get paid for playing basketball and the allowance for each game is very promising. I am also busy with my own work too. I have a full time job now, but I am setting up a company with some people outside, and I am planning to quit my current job the latest by next year. That means I have to work harder to achieve this. At the moment, I have to go out and meet my partners every evening after work to discuss about the business, or out for basketball matches or training.
The second reason is, I did not have an Astro in my room. If I say my wife is a movie and HK drama freak, then I am a Astro freak. I can sit in front of the TV for Astro programmes the whole day. I can choose from Dynasty channels such as Wah Loy Toi. I can choose from Learning channels, from Sport channels, or from New channels. With an Astro, basically I can stay at home for all day long. I can watch the dramas from those days, such as the one I am watching now in channel 34, “Shell Game” something. It’s called chin wong ji wong. I am also following “The Spirit of Love” or yi nan wang in Chinese, because of my mum.
When I am ready to move to my new house next year, I can also continue to enjoy the 50% discount entitlement because I am not going to report to Astro that the decoder is going to be located at a different house. Only stupid will do that. All I need to do is to get a new dish for my decoder, that’s it. Hahaa… I am smarter than Astro.

so much to complain about.. got money, got astro, new home etc.. and yet curse and complain. ever think abt the kids who do not have food to eat or shoes on their feet? be thankful for what you have and stop complaining.
Haha… you are really smart. I wonder if I can get a 2nd decoder from somewhere, then I don’t even need to pay 50% for the 2nd subscription.

can’t I complain when I feel thankful?? What stupid logic is that?? Now I am complaining about the kids got no food to eat. I am complaining the kids don’t have shoes on their feet. I am also complaining nobody’s barking like a rottweiler here.

So that means if we get a second decoder we can pay 50% for the packages we take? Does those packages have to be same as the original package or can i take more packages?
Becoz i was thinking after i read ur post, i have an extra dish, mebe just get a second decoder and bring it to the new house.

exactly, you pay 50% only for your 2nd decoder packages. For your 2nd decoder, you do not need to choose what you’ve chose for your 1st decoder.
