Sudirman Cup :: We are the greatest loser

    By Tiuniasing | June 14, 2007

In Sudirman Cup, I missed the game team Malaysia against England. But it surprised me that we lost to England. Ever since I know about badminton, I had never heard of England in the strong team list, but not after the day we lost to them. I thought English don’t know about badminton but I was wrong. If I were to say the English know a little about this game, then our fellow countrymen must have known nothing about badminton.

It was a heavy downpour just now. I was in the office finding ways to leave for home. I ran to the car, I got all my body wet. I rushed home flashily on the slippery road covering by at least 2 inches of water, just to catch the men’s double game. I consoled myself that it could be the luck wasn’t at our side, that’s how Koo and Tan lost to the English.

After witnessing the match just now, I know I was wrong. The truth is, our countrymen isn’t as good as I expected. They were once very good, but it was only for a very short period of time, for a few months time only to be exact. They were once unbeatable, but they are not now. Anyone can beat team. Our second double also can beat them. MACHAOHAI!!

The match they played against the China’s double just now, our fellow countrymen looked like pair of small kids only. 2 games ended very fast. Koo’s unforced errors and misjudgements, Tan’s lack of confidence are the main cause of the loss. They just don’t look like a strong team. Seriously, they played like small kids only. They really need to put in a lot of efforts in order to get back to top form.

Speaking of Koo and Tan, it reminds me of their visit to Machap to tarik supporters. Hello fellow Machapians, now your hero has become zero already. Now all of you happy?? Anyway, thanks to the politicians also. Congrats to you for winning the election. But… But our first men’s double players keep on losing and losing until today. Now you happy?? You happy?? Do something lah, MAHAI!!

If you aware with our badminton player history, when our player managed to win some big tournament such as All England or other famous Open, they tend to face a long period of keep losing or bow our early round in their next few tournament.

      Why?

Because when they win such huge/big tournament, they need to attend a lot of function, every sponsor want a bit of their sudden stardom.

      Patrick Teong,
I think our heros are not ambitious enough, or what they get in winning one big tournament is already more than the China and Indonesian players get in winning 10 tournaments. So you tell me, do they need to keep winning or not?? No need lah of course. Hahaa…
