No getting back citizenship if you give it up

    By Tiuniasing | July 11, 2007

PUTRAJAYA: Think hard and long before giving up your citizenship.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi warned that Malaysians who did so could not hope to get it back again. - The Star

This is something about when someones have surrendered their citizenship, there will be no way in becoming Malaysian for the rest of their life. Basically they can forget how to sing Negaraku, they can throw their Rukunnegara into the rubbish bin, they can burn all the Malay dictionaries, because all these are no longer useful to them anymore. It’s like if you’re no longer a Christian, basically you can forget about your bible because you choose not to believe what’s written in your bible. Enough say…

If you ask me how do I think about it, I would say… “So what?? Can’t get back, can’t get back lah!!” What’s the big deal??

Frankily, if one decided to withdraw their citizenship, he or she has thought very thoroughly and deeply about the outcomes and then only they made their final decision with the withdrawal. I am not here encouraging you to give up your citizenship but that’s really not a big problem in that and I don’t see any reason why we want to enlarge it and announce it big big to the world. Ehh… Would I get trouble for saying this or not?? Sorry if I’ve offended anyone but I’m just saying what I think is true.

Umno information chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib said the high number of Malays emigrating was not a cause for concern but it would be good to know why they wanted to leave their homeland. - The Star

Here the UMNO information chief wants to know why some people wanted to leave their homeland. It doesn’t take a genius to list out the reasons. I am not a genius, but I can at least list out one here:-

    - They leave because they want to change religion.

Ehh… I said this because I read it from somewhere some time ago that a woman, I can’t recall her name, wanted to migrate because of her religious matter. She said that she has failed in getting her religion changed and she has so fucking fed up with it, so she decided to migrate to other country. Correct me if I am wrong.

Let’s apply the citizenship to the religious matter… “No getting back religion if you give it up”

By applying this, I think everybody will be happy about it. Most of them if not all… At least Siti can continue to do for living by fully utilizing her talent in everywhere, including nightclubs without any inteference from the religious authorities. At least she doesn’t need to be kept cold in tiny room. At least she doesn’t need to be taken photograph like the monkey in the National Zoo. At least she can tell her parents that those are her hard earn money instead of earning najis. At least she can continue to wear sleeveless top and long pants when she’s singing… But sad to say that she won’t consider to contribute her talent in Ramly stalls anymore. Sigh…
