It’s getting closer

The time has come; Time for seeing my wife’s body out of shape, time for scheduled-gynaecology appointment… I just went with my wife to the gynaecologist yesterday, for pre-pregnancy test. I had some kind of different thoughts from my previous visit to a gynaecologist.
The last time I visited to gynaecology hospital was many many years ago, with a female friend of mine, let’s name her Melly. Melly had got pregnant because of her then-ex-boyfriend, and both her then-boyfriend and the then-ex-boyfriend didn’t know about it. She came to me and asked for help. So I took her to a gynaelogy hospital in KL for abortion. Melly was very sad of it and had been in the lowest form of herself for some time. She looked very down for quite a period of time because of her decision, a decision which she had to make though she wasn’t willing to. I agreed with it, perhaps I should say she had no other choice at that moment and that was just part of our life. She later told me that she regretted with what she had done and made, and to have sex with her then-ex-boyfriend is the most stupid thing that she has ever done in her life. She had sex with the then-ex-boyfriend because she still loved him though she knew that they couldn’t get back together again. It was my first visit to a gynaecologist.
The first visit to a gynaecologist was to remove a baby from someone’s body, and my second visit to a gynaecologist was to get prepared for pregnancy. What a great two big extremes that I have here. For the first visit, I did not go into the consultation room with Melly because I was still young, and I wasn’t the baby’s father. But for this time, I entered the consultation room with Shino and I had a chance to observe the whole process of how the gynaecologist does his job. Okay, I didn’t see it with my own eyes, but I could hear what he told Shino, because the inspection process had to be done covered. If you had visited to a gynaecologist before, surely you have an idea what I am talking about here.
I asked myself before if I had prepared for the changes that we’re going to have (when Shino is pregnant), Shino asked me this too. I did not know on how to persuade myself and her that I am actually ready for it. So I asked myself again how I reacted when I first heard that we are starting to make a baby. My answer is, I only felt excited, I couldn’t wait to become a father, I couldn’t wait to touch my wife’s popping belly and the expanded stomach!! I checked through wikipedia about pregnancy. I asked my friends who have already become father, about what to do and prepare prior to and during pregnancy.
Everytime my friends see me, the first thing that they will ask is,”Woi, got baby already or not??”
Then I will answer them,”Mahai, married already must get a baby ah?? It’s the life of two now okay!!?? We’re still honeymonthing. Why must I get a dinasour to screw up my honeymonths??”
But soon, I will have to say something different such as:-
“Yeah, got two months already. Hahaa…”
“Oh yeah. Now already four months pregnant and tomorrow have to go for check up again.”
“YEAHHHH… It’s a baby boy!!”
“Excuse me, do not smoke here please because my wife is pregnant now.”

Life is definitely going to be different for you dude. I’m happy for you that you are preparing yourself quite well to take the different roles in your life, a husband and a soon-to-be father.
