    Our hope, the kids

    By Tiuniasing | May 10, 2008

When I was young, everybody asked me to work hard on studies and to learn more because I was their hope, their future. At first I didn’t get what they are trying to say. I mean, how could I become their hope since I had no blood relationship with them, they are just my parents’ friends, my teachers or my coaches. After some time, I realized what they actually meant. They were trying to ask me to do well in life so that I can contribute to the society or something.

Since then, I played more basketball. Hahaa… I thought the Chinese society was gonna fall if basketball no longer an active sport in our country. You know, I have a thought that basketball represent the Chinese, and football or soccer is meant for our Malay friends, cricket is for the Indians. What about badminton?? Badminton is for everybody. Back then, we had Rashid Sidek, we had Foo Kok Keong. And both of them were working for the club ran by an Indian, Mr.Gunalan - Former Deputy President of the International Badminton Federation. Hahaa… I know those are rubbish, but isn’t this what a blog meant for??

Let’s go back to the contribution to society after I had grown. The theory is very simple. If I worked hard and entered a medical school, our society would have added one smart and macho physician. If I were to take law, nonetheless you will see a lansi and guai lan Bar rocking in the court and appears on the headline of all the major press everyday. Maybe not, because he could have been busy helping DAP or PKR fighting for citizen’s rights or checking our longkang. Anyhow, the society will get benefited if I were to work hard when I was young. Anyway, it isn’t too bad now because I have successfully brought happiness to a pretty lady whom is my dearly wife. This is what we called contribution.

A few days ago when I was playing basketball, I saw a few kids sitting on the bench. They are about 12 or 13 years of age. Guess what fucking were they doing?? They were puffing away at cigarettes. In that group, I saw two females joining their unhealthy activity. The worst part, they were sharing every single stick of the cigarettes. I am not saying smoking is bad, but it should not have happened to those who have not stopped taking milk like them. They should buy milk powder instead, not Marlboro Light.

Imagine, where the hell do you think they get the money from to buy cigarettes?? From their parents?? Do you think it is possible?? Hello, cigarettes are not cheap today. I am expecting the young smokers are potentially the cause of crimes such as house broken into, snatchers, robbers and so on. When they need money for their not-supposed-to-have interest, what will they do?? Go and steal lah, snatch the women’s handbay lah, become ma ji (race horse game) workers lah and so on. When someone is being grown in these environment, how can you expect them to contribute to the society?? Now they are still young, they are not strong enough to rob, that’s why they steal only. When they have grown, robbering is one of their ways to survive. Those who have worked as ma ji cashier before will become ma ji boss or supplier in the future. So you tell me, where is our future??

Actually it was not the first time I saw a group of kids smoking at that area. There are a few more groups about their age too, alway lepak and disturb in the neightbourhood. When I see all this, I feel the pain in my heart. I am sad for their parents. I believe that the parents must have not been acknowledged about their children illegal activities (smoking is illegal for their ages). When the cops knock their door and tell them that their childrenĀ have commited crimes, they will diu gao chat the cops for accussing their children falsely. Many times I read from the newspapers, some criminal suspects were shot dead, then the parents cried to death that their children were good boy or girl and can never be robbers or murderers. I was so fucking du lan and wanted to diu gao chat them back. Never educate their children well is already their false, still they want to blame the cops for giving us a better society. Mahai betul!!

      Pookyma,
frankily, I tried Dunlop gum before, I like the smell. Hahaa…
I once addicted to gum, but I quit it because I know it is harmful to my health.

      belle,
very good statement you have. I think that is the reason why the parents can’t accept the fact that their children committing cimes outside the house. Maybe they can’t do that at home, that’s why the parents don’t know about it, hehee…
