Steamboat (hot pot) buffet is for hungry beggars, not for normal people

I had a business trip to JB (Johore Bahru) lately. With me on the trip is one of my manager, Mr.Lim, and a female colleague, Miss Kow. Mr.Lim is in his 40s and a very conservative man. I strongly believe that his brain is full of rotten-pig-brain-juice where the entire brain is so fucking stink and static that nobody can change his mind and his outdated view. When I am with these kind of people, the only thing that I can do is to ignore them, just don’t give a damn to them no matter what. Actually, my brother is also that type of creatures. When I deal with my brother, I won’t correct him though I realise his mistakes or errors, but why?? Because no point of reminding or telling him as they are just too fucking stubborn to accept other people’s views. I will let him to hit the nail himself and by then, he will know where he is wrong in.
I do the same when I’m dealing with the stubborn-ass Mr.Lim. To be honest, his driving is one of the lousiest that I’ve ever encountered. His driving isn’t fast, but the way he is controlling the steerling will make you puke if you are on board. Not to forget his footing style will make you feel uneasy after a short distance of riding on. Everytime his hands are on the steerling, he seems to have problem to drive on the straight line. Both his hands keep moving left and right, and the movement is especially strong when he is playing some Chinese oldies or Hokkien songs that with a lot of musics. The same problem goes to his right foot which is controlling the acceleration and braking pedals. His right foot keeps lifting and footing like an athelete’s Electrocardiogram (ECG), up-down so fucking frequently that you want to get off right away.
I told him about his driving, guess how he responded me. He said,”I have good music rhythm, and it is so much of fun driving like this when listening to musics.” I am not the only person who complains about his driving, almost everyone who’s been onto his car before complained about it. But, he doesn’t seem to understand how suffering his passengers is, or he doesn’t give a damn to those who are on board, just because he is toooooo fucking stubborn. This is just one part of his driving, there are many more but I see no reason to waste anymore time and space here. Talking about his stubbornness, I think I can compose it in 100 different entries with one entry on one of his naturally-born-stubbornness respectively.
When we were in JB, Mr.Lim was in charge of taking care of us as he is some sort like the southern regional manager in my company. For one of our dinner, he suggested steamboat buffet, and he seemed to be very proud of his idea. When he suggested steamboat buffet, he looked very excited and very stupid to me. I personally do not like this kind of steamboat, where everybody shares one hot pot. I find it very dirty and un-hygiene. Usually the eaters use their chopsticks for eating and also for picking up the food from the hot pot. Imagine you are eating everyone’s saliva, I feel like puking when I thought of that. Plus, buffet, is the main turn off reason for a good dinner. For those who are in JB, the steamboat I went to is the one situating next to The Store supermarket at Johor Jaya, it is called Garden Steamboat if I am not mistaken. The steamboat is with one rate, you can eat all you want. It is a roofless restaurant, an open air one. So you can see the sky, looking at the moon and stars while eating, but of course, you will get wet if it rains.
When we go for buffet, a big crowd is expected and everybody is not queueing for the ingredients, they ‘rob’, they fight for the ingredients, you get what I mean?? If you don’t get it, you can go to the nearest buffet restaurant to give a try. The steamboat I visited has karaoke as entertainment. The karaoke is open to the restaurant guests, you can expect a lot of lousy singing there. Also, unlike the modern hot pot restaurants which use induction cooker, Garden use the traditional mini gas stove to boil the soups. With such a big crowd, robbery of ingredients is definitely expected especially for the fast moving ingredients. The temperature of the whole place is believed to have at least three to five celcius degree higher than the outside temperature. I sweated all over my body though I did not walk around very frequently.
There is a big problem when we go for buffer with people like Mr.Lim and Miss Kow. To me, I think buffet is more to self-service type where you take what you want to eat only. It is unnecessary to take for everybody in your table because they might not want to eat what you’ve taken for them. It is waste of food if you take for them and they don’t eat it. It is not their fault for not entertaining you, it is your fault to act smart and take ingredients for them. Actually they can go around and take what they want on their own, you don’t need to act smart.
That day, both of them acted smart and took a lot of ingredients to be cooked, they had count me in for the ingredients they took. Mr.Lim even cooked for me, cheebye:-
Tiuniasing :: “Wahahahaa… Both of you take so much of ingredients, can finish all or not??”
Miss Kow :: “We take for you ma.”
Mr.Lim :: “Yeah, with you here, I am not worried about that.”
Tiuniasing :: “Ohh… But I am on diet now, I can’t eat so much.”
Miss Kow :: “Are you kidding us??”
Tiuniasing :: “It is true I am on diet.”
Miss Kow :: “Why??”
Tiuniasing :: “I am over-weight, I wanna lose weight.”
Miss Kow :: “You must be pulling our legs.”
Mr.Lim :: “With your height, you still have a lot of rooms to eat.”
Tiuniasing :: “But I have to cut down my weight.”
Miss Kow :: “Why??”
Tiuniasing :: “I need to control my weight as a basketball player. With my current weight, it is not good for basketball. My knees’ burden is too much due to the heavy weight.”
Miss Kow :: “How heavy are you??”
Tiuniasing :: “I am now 79 point something kg. It is an ideal weight for me. Perviously, I was 83.9kg, it was measured 3 months ago. I have to control it below 80kg. It’s about 4 kgs less in three months time”
Miss Kow :: “Wow, that’s a lot. How did you do that??”
Mr.Lim :: “Yeah, knee-injury is bad for sport.”
Tiuniasing :: “As I said, control diet. Eat less, but eat healthily.”
Miss Kow :: “Ohh…”
Then, Mr.Lim cooked for me:-
Mr.Lim :: “Tiu, this is for you. Take it…”
Tiuniasing :: “I don’t want, I don’t like grilled prawns.”
Miss Kow :: “Hahaa…”
Mr.Lim :: “Ehh… Nah, this one for you.”
Tiuniasing :: “I also don’t like it. I will make my own food. I don’t like the way you cook it, I will cook on my own. Can’t you two just leave me to take the ingredient and prepare my own food?? And you Mr.Lim, you know, you use your chopstick to pick the food from the pot, it is very dirty and disgusting. No more steamboat next time okay??”
So, it ended up with both of them had to finish all the food. They couldn’t finish all, they left some. What a waste… STUPID!!
Another bad thing about this kind of restaurants is that their ingredients are not fresh at all. It is all frozen and has been kept for many days. I just don’t like it, frozen meats, frozen vegetables, frozen steamboat ingredients.

I didn’t enjoy my steamboat at Johor during this new year as well. I have enough nice and fresh seafood back in my hometown and it was the first time I don’t eat much cause I normally eat alot when it comes to steamboat but that was another story XD

that’s what we called sohai. I tell you what, Mr.Lim was having a flu at that moment, a mild one.
Is all about who’s your companion during stimboat and i have meet very disgusting people using same chopstick dip with their own saliva and then pick the food into the pot…. kill my appetite already XD

i never like “one flat rate-eat all you want-” for people like me ill just sit there. no intention to rob along those sohais.
anyway..no point steamboat elsewhere except your own house. be as loud as u want, eat all you want and FAMILY SALIVA.
