    Emotional Quality Education

    By Tiuniasing | November 11, 2009

Whether you like it or not, the men have better EQ (emotional quality) than the women, it is not a debatable topic but a fucking fact.

Shino and I were discussing about how we should educate our kids in the future, I was suggesting that we should let the kids to expose to more activities, I mentioned that I don’t mind to let my kids to try on scooter when he is at the age of 4. If you are not sure what a scooter is, a scooter is a type of child’s bicycle which has two wheels joined by a board and a handle on a long pole attached to the front wheel. The child stands on the board with one foot, and uses the other foot to move forward.

I am an auto-racing die-hard fan, I follow all MotoGP and Formula One GPs without miss. I told Shino that the western parents are so open that they let their children to get involved in auto-racing in the early ages, as early as at the age of 5 or 6. All the Formula One and MotoGP champions are good examples. I added that auto-sports are safe if we play the sport in a proper way such as using the safety gear provided, and follow the rules. With that, in a way, it is to educate a child to obey, to follow the rules. I think Shino was unconvinced.

She said she will let the kids to join some group actvities, church activities for instance. She added that the kids can build a good personality and attitudes in it. Frankly, I do not agree with that. I think, a group activity is a good way to reflect a kid’s attitudes, the good or bad ones, but not to build the good ones. We can know how our kids behave in the group, and if we find they lack of certain quality which could be useful for them in the future, such as confidence and leadership, we have to do something about it. They can learn to become a leader in the group without our help, but it is slow and uncertain, and isn’t it too passive?? What if the kids learn the negative things??

In a group, they are people who are leading the group, they are people who are leaded by the leaders; some are confidence and want to show off all the time, they want to be the spot, they have their own thinking, they always can be the decision makers. But they are some who are so quiet and low profile that they like to choose to hide in the corners all the time. Although they are quiet, but they are still in the group, they are joining the group activities like others, but they are the passive ones.

Let’s talk about the crimes. Do you think all the prisoners have never taken part in group activities?? Do you think the mat-rempit do not know what a group is?? But what they learnt from group activities are something bad, and nobody was there to tell them what were the right and wrong. I know you will correct them when you find they are doing something wrong, but I am into ‘planting’ some good qualities in the kids such as leadership, confidence, hardworking, politeness, high emotional quality, be positive, good manners, obedience, you name it.

Then Shino started to get impatient with me. She was kind of fucking dulan that I disagreed with her. She said in a high tone that she had been joining so many societies and clubs in the school, she did not find any problem with it. Her face was so fucking fierce as if she had found out that I had had sex with one of her lady friends the night before. Come on, it was only a discussion, I disagreed with her because I have my points. She did not allow me to tell my points and straight away she got dulan. Isn’t it unfair to me? At least you let me to finish telling my points, and if you find it untrue, you can always let me know after that and not to get dulan because of my disagreement. Moreover, I have my own strong points.

At that time, I was thinking:-

“How can you be so low EQ although you have participated so many group activities in the school??”

It is proven that I have got it right. To join group activities will not be a value added to an individual if he or she doesn’t change to good from bad, or fine-tune their behaviours. Some people are so fucking stubborn that they always think they are right and will never want to change though so many times have been told or reminded. Stubborn is part of low EQ.

I will put my kids into some groups for activities too, I will see how my kids behave, I will see what potential my kids have. From there, I know what I need to do to make them a better person in the future. This is what I called education.

When comes to EQ, it is something the men always do better than the women in the majority.
